State University Medicine
The department of medicine has a mission to produce educated and developed physicians,
who practice patient-centered health care, discover and use advance knowledge.
They understand the responsibility towards the community needs, through the service
to elders, rural areas and minority community. Throughout their academic program,
students learn in environment that involves teamwork, open communication and respect.
Students are giving active participation in an innovative and information technology
programs. Students
are getting a well-structured source of education in the biomedical, behavioral
and clinical sciences. Subjects such as anatomy and pathology are presented in
a clinical science with medical cases, as well as the latest medical technologies.
Problem-based and small-group learning experiences help students develop their
clinical accurateness and they learn to work as a team member in health care team.
Vision of the FSU College of Medicine will lead the nation in preparing compassionate
physicians to deliver the highest quality 21st Century patient-centered medicine
to communities of greatest need. Departments

Ph.D. Program
- The Ph.D. Program in Biomedical Sciences at the Florida State University College
of Medicine offers different courses to train biomedical scientists who take advantage
of genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics and other contemporary approaches to answer
the questions of development of cell, and molecular biology related to human health.
The Program is appropriate for students with majors in biochemistry, biology or
other health-related fields. The Biomedical Sciences program will prepare graduates
to join in combination of various scientific workforces in both academic and non-academic
environments. The students are performing the research in the following areas:
development, neuroscience and the molecular basis of human disease. Courses
offered by Biomedical Science Department are: Graduate
